2 Days

Well, that's 2 days I won't be forgetting. Record Store Day went better than planned, actually.

THIS FILM

THIS FILM.
Makes no sense. But thats what makes it amazing. Perhaps my current state of my mind isn't best placed to write anything coherent about it, but be in no uncertain terms that this film is amazing. Soundtrack is great too.

Colours and ideas and movement and everything. Powered by pure thought, this thing. Really rather enjoyable.

"It's only been 3 hours?!"

Victoria Park is a glorious place on a sunny day. Lying on the grass is glorious. Going down mahussive slides is also glorious. MXE is also glorious.

Mid-day Rain on the Bus

Is perhaps one of the most interesting perks of living in London. There's something about the grey skies and grey light, on an empty bus. Melancholy, perhaps, but most importantly, quiet. Engine noise and the patter of rain are surprisingly comforting in this situation.

Pen & Ink

The Old Man and the Sea
Pen & Ink
Tom Berry

More strange connections today: this piece is by a friend of my physics teacher. He's currently got an exhibition going on at the Institute of Physics, and hot damn, these things are amazing. Purely pen and ink, nothing more.

About time I read some Hemingway, too.

"But where's the drop?"

To use a phrase that was bandied around a lot on the night, CHILL AS FUCK. Also, BETA AS FUCK. Yes, Balam Acab remarkably managed to be pretty chill even when playing live. I have to hand it to him, he managed to make it a pretty engaging live performance with PHAT BEATS, but still staying pretty, well, chill.

Live vocals were a bit unexpected too, but worked surprisingly well. I hadn't actually realised that there actual words to listen to, but hey, they sounded pretty damn good. Also, live mixes make for pretty fun interludes where no one is sure whether or not to clap.

Being totally honest, the evening would have been improved if slightly intoxicated. But whatever, look at the fucking moon, man.
